Refund policy

At AMO Scientific, we want our customers to be satisfied with their purchase. Because many of our products are specialized laboratory, semiconductor, scientific, or made-to-order items, return eligibility may vary by product.

1. Return Window

Customers may request a return within 30 days of delivery.

To be eligible for a return, the product must:

Be unused and in its original condition
Be in the original packaging
Include all accessories, components, manuals, and documentation
Have no signs of installation, use, contamination, damage, or modification
Be accompanied by proof of purchase

A return must be approved by AMO Scientific before the product is shipped back.

2. Return Authorization

Before returning any item, please contact us at:

Please provide:

Order number
Product name or SKU
Quantity being returned
Reason for return
Photos of the product and packaging, if applicable

If the return is approved, AMO Scientific will provide return instructions and, when applicable, a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number.

Unauthorized returns may be refused.

3. Non-Returnable Items

The following products are generally not eligible for return:

Custom-made or custom-configured products
Special-order products
Products manufactured to customer specifications
Cut-to-size or modified materials
Used, installed, tested, or contaminated products
Products damaged due to improper handling, storage, installation, or use
Products returned without original packaging
Clearance or final-sale items
Consumables
Opened cleanroom, sterile, or contamination-controlled products when the original sealed packaging has been opened

4. Incorrect, Damaged, or Defective Products

If you receive an incorrect, damaged, or defective product, please contact AMO Scientific within 7 days of delivery.

Please provide photographs showing:

The product
Product label or SKU
Packaging
Shipping damage, if applicable
The specific defect or issue

If the issue is confirmed, AMO Scientific may, at its discretion:

Replace the product
Repair the product
Provide replacement parts
Issue a partial refund
Issue a full refund

For approved claims involving an AMO Scientific error, defective product, or shipping damage, AMO Scientific will generally cover reasonable return shipping costs.

5. Customer-Requested Returns

If a return is requested because the customer:

Ordered the wrong item
Ordered the wrong size or specification
No longer needs the product
Changed their mind

the customer is responsible for return shipping costs.

Original shipping charges are generally non-refundable.

A restocking fee of 25% may apply to approved customer-requested returns, depending on the product condition, packaging, and type of product.

6. Return Shipping

Customers are responsible for ensuring that returned products are properly packaged to prevent damage during transportation.

We strongly recommend using:

A trackable shipping service
Appropriate shipping insurance
Original protective packaging whenever possible

AMO Scientific is not responsible for products lost or damaged during return transportation when the return shipment is arranged by the customer.

7. Inspection of Returned Products

All returned products are subject to inspection upon receipt.

AMO Scientific reserves the right to reduce or deny a refund if:

The product has been used
The product is damaged
Parts or accessories are missing
Packaging is damaged or missing
The product cannot be resold as new
The condition differs from the customer's description when requesting the return

8. Refunds

Once an approved return has been received and inspected, AMO Scientific will notify the customer of the refund status.

Approved refunds will generally be issued to the original payment method.

Please allow approximately 5–10 business days after refund approval for the credit to appear, depending on the customer's bank or payment provider.

Shipping charges, customs duties, taxes, brokerage charges, and other transportation-related costs are generally non-refundable unless the return resulted from an error by AMO Scientific.

9. Order Cancellations

Orders may be cancelled before processing or shipment, subject to approval.

Once an order has entered production, sourcing, customization, or special-order processing, it may no longer be cancellable.

Custom-made or special-order products may require a cancellation fee or may be non-cancellable after production has started.

10. International Orders

For international returns, customers are responsible for:

Return shipping
Customs clearance
Duties
Taxes
Brokerage fees
Other import/export-related expenses

unless the return is caused by an error by AMO Scientific.

Customers should clearly identify the shipment as a returned product where permitted to help avoid unnecessary import charges.

11. Product Specifications

For technical, semiconductor, optical, crystal, wafer, laboratory, and scientific products, customers are responsible for reviewing product specifications before placing an order.

A product is not considered defective solely because it is unsuitable for a customer's specific application if the product meets the published or mutually agreed specifications.

Customers are encouraged to contact AMO Scientific before ordering if they have questions regarding compatibility, tolerances, dimensions, materials, or performance requirements.
